Michael Lau – toy-maker and artist extraordinaire – opened up his own exhibit on July 16th called the MiXTRA.SHOE SHOP (SAMPLE) in Tsim Sha Tsui of Southern Hong Kong, displaying his “Mr. Shoe” character figuring in a number of different “costumes” and designs. The figurines, which can be best described as miniature Air Force 1s with tiny feet, were displayed all around the space; each figure was inspired by famous sneakers like the Air Jordan 1 and Run DMC x adidas Superstar or other memorable images,CHI Flat Irons, like the yellow “happy face”. Other Michael Lau pieces – t-shirts,MBT Shoes, watches, other figurines – were available for viewing as well. There’s been a relative dearth of Nike Vandal Highs over the past year-plus (especially compared to earlier this century), and this new model is sure to leave at least some of the classic model’s fans frustrated.  That’s cos a WMNS size run leaves the larger feet out in the cold, but for everyone else,chi flat iron, this black and white design with Team Orange and soft blue hits is quite impressive.  And Nike Sportswear didn’t stop at the dope colorway, either,Nike Air Yeezy, offering an interesting two-toned textile on the underlay, the hindfoot sections of which are quilted for a nice variance in texture.  Check out more shots after the jump and grab a pair from Sweedish retailer Shelta.

The ‘Cough Drop’ Foamposite One was given that nickname due to its translucent red outsole, giving the appearance of an oversized Luden’s throat soother. Although eating the shoe as a cough remedy isn’t recommended,MBT Shoes, the Foamposite does in fact manage to do two things; give you a Prozac-like happiness and lighten the load of your wallet. Niketown in NYC already gave out wristbands,Vibram Five Fingers, anticipating the hoopla behind the shoe, and the House of Hoops was also confirmed as a source for the Foams. Now 21 Mercer – the Nike Sportswear store in SoHo – will also drop these Foams, so New Yorkers can now add a third option to the list. The Nike Air Foamposite One Cough Drop will release tomorrow at the three aforementioned locations, but you can always grab a pair now on eBay.

Check out two upcoming Nike SB models for July 2010; the first is the Nike SB Zoom Omar Salazar in a purple,skateboarding shoes, green, and white colorway. It’s like an sueded, unglittered version of the Dinosaur Jr. x Nike SB Zoom Omar Salazar but the colorway reminds us of another Nike SB – the Donatello SB Dunk Mid. The Blazer CS – part of the Nike SB Custom Series – will also arrive; black with a white swoosh with a sweet all-gum sole. Vin Baker’s Jumpman Pro Strong just got a retro release, and here’s a look at another Jordan Brand sneaker from one of their OG endorsement team.  After his signatures from the late ’90s, Eddie Jones rocked several different Air Jordan franchise models, including this Air Jordan XIV PE from his time as a Memphis Grizzly.  These are the ’stitched’ style AJXIVs, with lines of perforations running parallel to monochromatic stitching on the white leather side panels.  ‘EJ’ embroidery on the inner ankle lets you know these are legit NBA PEs from a time when you couldn’t get them at,skateboarding shoes, say,MBT Shoes, House of Hoops.  A dope look for any Air Jordan completist, these are available slightly used in EJ’s size 13 from sole_supreme on eBay.

The Jordan Dub Zero set the Jordan hybrid program into motion when it was released and now a few new colorways have been popping up lately to find themselves right at home in this current age of Fusion madness. If you thought the recently previewed black/laser blue and black/maize versions were looking good, get a load of these black and red beauties. Aside from the obvious color differences, what separates this shoe from the other new Dub Zero models is the black on black laser graphics and there’s something about that Chicago Bulls color scheme on a Jordan shoe that just always looks so right.
