With the spirit of his quote in mind, Nike honors co-founder Bill Bowerman by using his name on a collection of running kicks.  Established last summer, the Bowerman Series continues with this new colorway of the Nike Mayfly, an ultra-lightweight runner whose colorway will remind you of the previous generation orange shoebox.  Intriguing (and unexplained) pattern aside, you’re not going to find a running shoe much lighter than this pair’s 4.8oz weight,Asics Shoes, and at an insanely affordable $45,kobe bryant shoes, you’d be crazy not to cop a pair from NikeStore.

It’s official.  After much speculation, rumors and misinformation, LeBron James just officially announced that he will join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in South Beach as a member of the 2010-11 Miami Heat. It looks like egos will be put aside as two of the NBA’s most elite stars will join forces in the name of championship glory. Obviously, adjustments will have to be made to coexist, but there’s no question that it should be fun to watch. In the opinions of many, this alliance is bad news for the sake of parity in the NBA, but with the Celtics and Magic squads still in tact in the East and the back-to-back Champion Lakers still looming in the West, this mini-All-Star team will still have some work to do.

Aside from the basketball impact, what if any sneaker ramifications will there be? While Miami may be a bigger market than Cleveland, it’s certainly not known as a sneaker mecca,nike shoes, so now that Nike and Jordan Brand have their two of their three biggest stars playing in the same city, will it hurt the Swoosh’s bottom line? Probably not. The Nike Zoom Flight Club was debuted by J.R. Smith of the Denver Nuggets in this month’s NBA All-Star Weekend Slam Dunk Contest but was obviously overshadowed by Nate Robinson and his KRYPTONATE Foamposite Lite PE’s. The Zoom Flight Club from Nike Basketball pays homage to one of Gary “The Glove” Payton’s signature Nike Basketball shoes, as they both feature the shroud/wrap over the shoe. This colorway is not only going to be released at Nike Basketball retailers but also possibly 21 Mercer Street in New York City, otherwise known as the NSW Store. via SOLEblvd
